Soap Box Derby set for June 17

The 16th Annual Windermere Stanwood Camano Island Soap Box Derby, one of the area’s biggest local events, is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, June 17. The event — “the largest Soap Box Derby Race west of the Mississippi!” — will be held at Arrowhead Ranch on Camano Island. Drivers ages 7-19 will be racing, with winners becoming eligible to go on and race at the All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship in Akron, Ohio.
