Prepping to be on the water!

This is the perfect time to de-winterize your boat, give it a good wash, and make sure everything is sparkling.  Do a quick check of expiration dates on sunscreen and refresh your supply. Check boat lines for any signs of overwear or fraying and replace them if necessary.  Check the zincs on your boat and replace regularly.  If you have a mooring buoy, have the chain checked.  You should have your mooring ball chain assessed every few years and replace it every five.  Trust me when I say, you don’t want to find your boat washed up on the beach- not the best way to meet new neighbors!  Don’t forget to get your crabbing and shellfish license too!

Up your entertaining game!

Entertaining friends and family is one of my favorite things to do.   Especially in the summer, we all relish those perfect, long days where the sun is out until 9:00pm.  Get a jump on prepping for the festive season by replacing your American flag, stocking up on your favorite cocktail mixers and wines, and taking inventory of your table and barware.  Dungeness crab typically takes center stage as your table scape but adding a personal touch makes a dinner more memorable.    I love these monogrammed linen napkins.  They are beautiful and most importantly, reusable.  Below are my summer entertaining essentials.  Enjoy!
